FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Should we use Cat5e, Cat6 or Cat6a cable?

For most new office installations Cat6 is the standard choice: it supports gigabit speeds today and 10-gigabit speeds over shorter runs. Cat6a supports 10-gigabit over the full 100-meter run and suits busy networks or long runs. Cat5e is only worth keeping for existing runs that still work. We help you choose based on your space and budget.

Is your cabling installed to code?

Yes. We are aware of Houston-area codes, and each installation meets or exceeds all city codes.

Do you install cabling for new offices and remodels?

Yes. We plan data drops around where your people, printers, phones and wireless access points will be, and label and document every run so future changes are easy.

Can you fix or clean up our existing cabling?

Yes. We can trace and test existing runs, replace failed cables and connections, and tidy up network closets, which is often the fix for intermittent network drops.

Do you also set up wireless networks and network equipment?

Yes. We set up wireless networks and the switches and firewalls that connect everything, so the cabling and the network are designed together.
