Most of the time, when you insert a disc to install a piece of software, you get something like this:

But, what happens when you have AutoPlay disabled (which you should). 

Simple.  Just click on the Windows Orb (or button, or whatever you want to call it.  This thing here:

Then click on Computer:

Double click on the CD/DVD drive:

And then in most cases, simply double click on setup.exe:

If there isn’t a setup.exe, then the advanced users can right click on autorun.inf and then Open With, Notepad, look for the section:

{autorun]
OPEN={some program will be listed here, normally SETUP.EXE, or a path to the correct program}

If you don’t feel comfortable with doing that, you should probably call someone with a little more experience so that they can walk you through. 

This might seem like a lot of trouble, but the alternative is someone plugging a USB Flash drive in your computer and possibly having all of your data destroyed by a virus.
