Many of us today use offsite backup for our files.  Many don’t think twice about storing the drivers and setup files that we download for the various devices and software.  But, is this within the limits of the software license?

Most software licenses today give you the right to store ONE copy for archival purposes.  Most of us have this stored on our hard drive, which is backed up offsite.  Are we in violation of the license?  It looks to me like we are.  We are only granted the license to store ONE copy.

I have pretty much done away with keeping software and driver CDs and DVDs.  I prefer to store images of these on my hard drive.

What’s your take on this?
