On November 28, 2016, Webroot, our antivirus solution, released an update to their system. These updates significantly improve secure web usage for our clients.
Part of this update included a new web browser extension, and as a result, you may see requests to accept a new Webroot extension in your web browser. For you to be protected by this new functionality, you must accept the browser extension and may need to restart your browser.
With this being said, that is the official word from Webroot. I do not recall having to install the extension in my browser. However, on other systems, I have seen no notice to install and no request to install.
The picture shown on the right is an example of some of the functionality you can expect to see with the extension installed and enabled.
We apologize for any inconvenience or confusion this change may have caused. We understand the importance of notifying you in advance of product changes, especially when they impact you. We are working closely with Webroot to ensure we provide more advance notice of future changes.
